Connections of Cooldine Bog have Cheltenham November aspirations with the gelding as he today won the WhatOddsPaddy Handicap Hurdle at Cork.

Ridden by Cathal Landers, the five year old son of Court Cave scored a six lengths win over Smithscorner to improve on his consistent form figures of '5244312325' since June 1.

Winning trainer Andy Slattery was at Naas and afterwards was represented by his brother and assistant Brian Slattery who said “he jumped great, is very consistent and Cathal gets on very well with him.

“We might bring mammy and daddy (owners Margaret and Billy Slattery, along with Sean Hennessy) to Cheltenham for the novice handicap on the Friday of the November festival.

“We normally sell everything and he's on the go a long time but he was unlucky in his point to points and if they had gone right, he'd have been sold.

“Daddy, mammy and Sean Hennessy, a friend of theirs, are having great fun out of him.”
