Star Adventure made a winning debut for Noel Meade in the concluding bumper at Wexford this evening.

Mark O'Hare produced the Gold Well filly to tackle front-runner Stowaway Sarah over a furlong from home and the 6/1 shot got on top in the closing stages to record a two-and-a-quarter length win. Zola stayed on close home to just pip the long-time leader for the runner-up spot.

The winner is a half-sister to Laura Bullion, who won on the Flat for the yard at Dundalk back in April.

Meade revealed:- “I bred her myself and she was ready to run when she cracked her pelvis. She’s a half-sister to Laura Bullion who won for us this year, and I’ve a few more coming along out of the mare.

“She will go jumping now but doesn’t want the ground too quick.”

The owner Philip Meade is no relation. He is a commercial vegetable grower who supplies some of the large supermarkets.
