Steps bidding for Listed honours at Tipp

Lethal Steps will bid to maintain his unbeaten record when he lines up in the feature at Tipperary on Friday, the Coolmore Ivawood Stakes.

The Ger Lyons trained-colt was successful on debut at Leopardstown, and was then bought by Qatar Racing Limited.

He won by six lengths on his second start at Killarney, and connections will be hoping he can make it three in a row now as he steps up to Listed class.

Aidan O'Brien won this race 12 months ago with subsequent Irish Derby hero Capri, and he is represented by Ballet Shoes and Easter Lily.

The former got off the mark at the Curragh last month, with her rider Donnacha O'Brien later stating: "I didn't have a whole lot to do with her at home but I rode her work two weeks ago and loved her.

"I asked Dad if we could run her here and she's a really nice filly." Monkeylou won on his sole start at Listowel, and he is another interesting contender, with Declan McDonogh in the saddle for Gordon Elliott.

McDonogh will be aboard Patrick for Richard O'Brien in the Follow Tipperary On Facebook Handicap, and this five-year-old gelding looks to have solid claims.

He was a good third in the Rockingham at the Curragh last month, before finishing fifth on his most recent start at the Co Kildare venue. Ostatnia has won this race the last two years, and she is back to defend her crown, with her trainer Willie McCreery also saddling Rockingham fifth Patuano Go Kart was seventh in the Rockingham, and she is sure to have plenty of supporters with Sean Davis taking a valuable seven pounds off, while Magic Bear and Ice Cold In Alex are other leading contenders.

Elsewhere on the card, Navan runner-up Crown Leah should be able to take the Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Fillies Maiden, while Treasuring and India Rain looks the two to focus on in the Racing Again 31st August Nursery Handicap. Six Silver Lane and Seanie have won 17 races between them, and one of them should be up to taking the opening McGrath Oil Claiming Race.
