Killarney's three-day May Festival gets under way on Sunday when Stormy Ireland can resume winning ways for Willie Mullins in the Listed Killarney Oils Mares Hurdle.
She created a big impression on her Irish debut at Fairyhouse in December, when she powered home by 58 lengths.
Subsequent tilts at Grade One contests at Cheltenham and Punchestown saw her fall and unseat respectively.
This is a marked drop in class, though, so her ability should come to the fore.
You would be hard pushed to find a more competitive Grade B contest than the Redweld Stables Handicap Hurdle.
Ministerforsport and Donie McInerney might be able to supplement Cork gains off a 7lb higher mark. Gold Seal was beaten a long way into sixth on debut at Gowran Park, but that contest has thrown up numerous winners and he could be the next one in the Sika Signs Maiden Hurdle. Waterville Dancer has been backed off the boards in his first two appearances this season without scoring, so it will be interesting to see if it is third-time lucky. Edelpour was last seen finishing second to the classy Mengli Khan at Navan in September which gives him a leading chance in the Killarney Towers Hotel Maiden Hurdle.
Mullins’ Up For Review is very hard to oppose in the four runner Killarney Outlook Publications Novice Chase with an official rating of 146.
His Pravalaguna was very good over hurdles in Punchestown and now has her first crack at fences in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase. Yukon Lil looks a likely sort for the Closutton trainer in the bumper after a close third in the valuable Tattersalls Ireland Sales Bumper at Fairyhouse last month. Dark Outsider beat Not For You into second in the Irish Examiner Handicap Chase last year, but the latter might get his revenge in this year’s renewal.
