It wouldn’t be Super Sunday at Tipperary without winners trained in the Premier County. John Ryan followed Andy Slattery’s lead in the opener when landing the Peppermill Restaurant Nenagh (C & G) (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race with The Little Yank

The Listowel debut second placer (in an event that's working out really well) went off the 5/4 favourite for this six horse race and he was going to win barring something untoward happening up the straight.

He asserted from over a furlong out under Liam Quinlan to beat market rival Escaria Ten by seven and a half lengths.

"He is a real proper one. I had Foildubh who was rated 154 and had other good horses in my time but this is the best of them all," enthused Ryan in the aftermath.

The Fairyhill Templemore operator elaborated: "He is such a good jumper, he is schooled over fences and could have run in a point to point but we might keep him for a Listed bumper now. He is only four and I bought him from a good friend of mine, Morgan Cahalan, and I bought three of the family.

"He is 16 hands but is so stocky he doesn't show his height. He is a real one anyway."
