Three Colours Red followed-up on his win at Sligo on Tuesday as he took the last at the Curragh, the Longines World Fegentri Championship for Lady Riders Handicap.

The James Barrett trained three-year-old went up seven pounds for finishing second at Tramore last Saturday and he got another nine pounds for winning at Sligo (carried a five pound winners penalty here).

Sent straight to the front by German rider Michelle Blumenauer he stretched clear from three furlongs out.

He kept on well under pressure from over a furlong out, going on to win by two and a half lengths. High Kicker (5/1) finished second under Caroline Stummer for Peter Fahey while Placere (10/1) was a further three lengths back in third under Dina Heggum for Dick Brabazon.

The winner was returned the clear 6/4 favourite having touched 15/8 on-course.

James Barrett said afterwards: "I thought he was well in but was a bit afraid of the three runs in a week.

"I was happy enough with him at home though so we had to run as he'll have to run off 66 the next day.

"He's a tough horse and I genuinely believe he'll make a top-class jumps horse. He's tough and stays and has schooled well over hurdles.

"He's in again next week in an apprentice race and will come back. We'll see where he goes after that and he'll probably go jumping October time."
