Dermot Weld's Tirmizi the 1/6 favourite, had a bloodless victory in Listowel's four-runner qualified riders' race.

The Sea The Stars colt was in a different league to his rivals as he raced a healthy five lengths clear at the halfway stage.

The field closed up on him with five furlongs to go, however, he stretched on again the final half mile and drew further and further clear in the straight.

He eased past the post 17 lengths in front. Jack Blue (4/1) came through for a remote second.

Jockey Finny Maguire said: "That's great and I actually rode my first winner on my father's horse M M Dazzler in this race three years ago.

"I never had a moment's worry but he's just a big green baby and was just having a good look around crossing the roadways and looking at the railings. It was all a good experience for him and I doubt I'll ride a shorter-priced winner!"

This was Tirmizi's fourth start. He won a Leopardstown maiden in October 2015 before finishing seventh in a Group Three at the same track last May.

His last appearance saw him finish last of six in a valuable handicap also in Foxrock.
