Paul Townend completed a memorable day at Cork when Logical Song gave him a four-timer in the concluding Kerrymaid Novice Handicap Hurdle.

The Mags Mullins-trained 7/4 favourite was held up in the two-and-a-half mile contest before coming to challenge at the third last flight.

He fought it out with Knockraha Boss from the penultimate flight and got on top in the closing stages for a three-and-a-half length success.

The winner was dropping back in trip having been beaten favourite at Wexford last time. He had previously scored over this trip at Fairyhouse.

"He did it nicely - he travelled and toughed it out well,” said the winning rider afterwards.
