Charlie Swan is dreaming of some bigger Christmas targets after Make A Track recorded an eighth career victory by making all in the Clonmel Rated Hurdle.

Brian Cawley adopted positive tactics in this two and a half mile event, and asserted after two out where evens favourite Noble Endeavor made a mistake.

The ‘jolly’ could make no headway on the run-in as the Swan-trained gelding stayed on well to score by a length and three quarters, with Draycott Place all of 11 lengths further back in third.

Bryan Cooper could have ridden the winner but elected to partner the other Gigginstown representative Urticaire who threatened briefly on the home turn but soon dropped away to eventually finish fifth.

Swan said, “He was entitled to win on handicap ratings and Brian gave him a lovely ride. I was surprised Bryan (Cooper) didn't ride him as he was 9lbs better off.

"He might go to Limerick at Christmas for the Tim Duggan Chase (won it last year) but he's also in the Paddy Power at Leopardstown."
