Waaheb electric under McNamara

The unbeaten Waaheb produced another excellent performance when blowing away his opposition in the Kevin McManus Bookmaker Champion Bumper at Limerick.

Robbie McNamara exuded confidence on the 4/7 favourite as he cruised at the head of affairs down the straight in the Listed contest.

He pressed the button on the Dermot Weld-trained gelding inside the final furlong and the result was electric as he sprinted clear for a seven length success over Black Zorro

"He won very easily although Robbie said he hated the ground," said the trainer's son and owner Kris Weld afterwards.

"It was quite sticky but his class rose to the top. He'll go to Punchestown for the champion bumper next and that would probably finish him then for the summer."
