Jessica Harrington's Ya Ya Baby (7/4f) improved upon a pair of runner-up berths to win the Kenny Galway Handicap over an extended mile.

She was ridden to get the better of Cobb And Co in the final 150 yards, but then faced a stern challenge from Take My Hand (11/2) on the inner.

The latter kept fighting all the way to the line but went down by a short head. Mighty Mirage was a length and a quarter away in third at 22/1.

This was Ya Ya Baby's breakthrough on her seventh start.

Jockey Shane Foley said: “She battled well and is all heart.

"The ground is very testing and gluey.”
