Dual flat handicapper winner Yafordadoe got off the mark at the sixth attempt over hurdles at Cork today as the Gavin Cromwell trained four year old easily won the Cork (C & G) Maiden Hurdle under jockey Jonathan Moore.

The son of Zebedee won his last two flat starts, at the Curragh and Galway, in October 2019 and today ended a five race losing spell over jumps when beating Glory by four and a quarter lengths.

Cromwell's assistant Feidhlim Cunningham later reported “you'd be hoping from his rating that he'd do that and he was entitled to win as it wasn't the greatest contest.

“He had form in juvenile maidens last year and the bit of rain that came was ideal for him. Galway will come too soon and we'll look further down the line.”

The race also featured leading owner Barry Connell's first runner as a licensed trainer with Surmise which was unplaced.
