Strait Of Zanzibar recorded his fourth success of the season as he ran out a comfortable winner of the Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Package Handicap, scoring under Shane Foley for Ken Condon.

The five-year-old son of Arch won at Down Royal in May, Bellewstown in July and Naas in August.

He ran well to finish fourth behind Seanie at Tipperary on his last start and he was sent off at 12/1 this evening (touched 14’s).

The Raymond Doyle owned victor made all and he stretched clear under pressure inside the final furlong, going on to score by two and a half lengths. Maudlin Magdalen (12/1) kept on to take second under Leigh Roche for Donal Kinsella while Amazing Star was a further two and a half lengths back in third under Seamie Heffernan for Denis Hogan at 25/1. Moonmeister was all the rage with punters, going off the 2/1 favourite (was 4/1 this morning), but he could only manage a very disappointing sixth under Wayne Lordan for Gordon Elliott.
