Trainer Michael Halford and jockey Shane Foley were in double-winning form at the Curragh, culminating in Shadagann s success in the richest race on the card, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF 'Ragusa' Handicap.

The 10-1 chance was in front soon after the turn for home, and though Salthouse ranged upsides in the final two furlongs, he could not get past Halford's charge, who ran on well to win by half a length.

Halford and Foley's first win came courtesy of Dark Alliance (6-1), who produced a tremendous kick to fly up the nearside rail to go on to score by a length and a quarter from the pacesetting Ducky Mallon < Alice Springs looks a filly of some potential after running out a convincing winner of the When You Want It Done, DoneDeal EBF Fillies Maiden.

Aidan O'Brien's newcomer was sent off the 6-4 favourite and though she looked short of room two furlongs out, once Seamie Heffernan found a gap along the rail she quickened away smartly to beat Siamsaiocht by two lengths.< Eshera left her rivals floundering in the DoneDeal Ireland's Largest Classifieds Website EBF Maiden.

Pat Smullen was happy to go from the front on Dermot Weld's 5-4 favourite and just kept pulling further clear, eventually recording a seven and a half-length success over Aimhirgin Lass

Johnny Murtagh supplied daughter Caroline with her first winner at the Curragh aboard Jocular in the DoneDeal Apprentice Derby.

The 20-1 chance opened up a big early lead, but looked in trouble when reeled in by the pack, with Captain Carleton appearing to travel the best.

Jocular battled back for Murtagh's urgings, though, getting back on top close home and fending off the fast finish of On A Pedestal by half a length.

Jim Bolger's Algonquin (5-1) got up late under Kevin Manning to take the Silken Thomas And Lock 13 Handicap, and Bolger and Manning completed a double when Morning Mix (11-10 favourite) romped to victory in the concluding Clear Your Clutter With DoneDeal EBF Maiden.
