Review leopardstown 9th Mar

< Jezki got back on the winning trail in the Leopardstown Classic Trials Day April 14th Hurdle, although not before giving favourite-backers a big fright.

The 2014 Champion Hurdle hero had to go to the outside in search of a clear run shortly after swinging for home, but loomed up menacingly to tackle Lieutenant Colonel for the lead at the last.

He made quite a serious mistake, which took him a couple of strides to recover from, but there was plenty left in the tank and the 11-10 favourite ran down Lieutenant Colonel before crossing the line with a couple of lengths in hand.< Pallasator s class shone through in the Donohoe Marquees Maiden Hurdle.

A high-quality stayer on the level but beaten on his first two outings in this sphere, Gordon Elliott's strapping nine-year-old put it all together here and came home seven and a half lengths to the good over Dunvegan < Grand Partner (5-1) regained the winning thread in the TRI Equestrian Superstore & Cafe Handicap Hurdle.

Tom Mullins' battle-hardened campaigner was never too far from the pace and after tackling long-time leader Great Khan at the last, ran right the way to the line to account for Chesterfield King by a length and a quarter.

Mullins followed up courtesy of Spider Web in the TRI Equestrian Handicap Chase.

The well-backed 7-2 favourite progressed to challenge Uncle Danny for the lead at the final obstacle and found plenty on the run-in for Mark Enright to register a length-and-three-quarter verdict.< Crosshue Boy (10-1) has taken a while to get his act together over fences but put his best foot forward to take the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Rated Novice Chase under an enterprising J J Slevin ride.< Witness Of Fashion just landed the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Chase, while Artic Pearl won the Leopardstown Membership Beginners Chase and Sizing Pottsie took the TRM Excellence In Equine Nutrition (Pro/Am) Flat Race.
