Beau Et Sublime brought up a Down Royal double for Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy when winning a thrilling finish to the beginners' chase.

The end of this two and a half mile contest was fought out by the 13/8 joint favourites - Beau Et Sublime and The Herds Garden

French-bred Beau Et Sublime was strongly pressed after the last by The Herds Garden and was all out to cling on by a neck.

The runner-up made a bad mistake at the sixth but crept into the race and was doing his best work at the end, under Sean Flanagan, but came up just short.

Jack Kennedy said: "Brilliant round of jumping, he never put a foot wrong. He jumped well the last day in Clonmel. He did it well, he was gutsy, he kept going. He has loads of scope over fences."
