Armory quickened away in fine style to run out an impressive winner of the Tyros Stakes at Leopardstown this evening.

The Ballydoyle colt went to post a 2/5 shot for the Group 3 prize having made a big impression when taking a Curragh maiden on his second outing last month.

Ryan Moore tracked stable-mate Toronto on the Galileo colt before asking him to hit the front going to the one pole in the seven-furlong contest.

He engaged top gear after one flick from Moore's stick and went on to record a comprehensive five-length success over the long-time leader.

“You'd be delighted with him and we'll go for the Futurity with him,” said Aidan O'Brien.

“He progressing lovely, he came forward lovely from his first to his second run and you'd have to be very happy with him.

“He looks like a horse, that as a three-year-old, a mile would be his trip. You never know, he could stay further, but he's not short of pace.

“At the Curragh he was very good when he got out. We're delighted with him.”
