Quote (11/10 fav) made all the running to take the 1m 5f maiden for Aidan and Donnacha O’Brien.

The Galileo filly had improved for a step-up in trip when second to Halimi at the Curragh on her previous start and, although Hannon (4/1) ran on well inside the final furlong, favourite backers had few worries as O’Brien pushed out his mount to win by a length and three quarters.

There was a further four and three quarter lengths back to Geolai (10/1) in third.

The winning rider Donnacha O’Brien remarked afterwards: “She's a tough little filly and she tries her heart out. A bit of nice ground suited her better and once she tries that's half the battle.

“She looked like she stayed well in her last run and in maidens, especially, there is no point getting in behind too many, especially when they are genuine and they try like she does so I just kept it simple.

“I'm sure she'll be put into one of those (black-type) races and if she could (get black-type) it would be great but she tries hard.”
