Gordon Elliott enjoyed a one-two in the beginners' chase at Roscommon as Swordsman beat Flawless Escape

The market got it wrong as Flawless Escape and Davy Russell went off 3/1 favourite but they gave best to Swordsman (6/1) by three and three quarter lengths.

33/1 shot Templemore Dream was two and three quarter lengths back in third.

“He's the first proper winter horse we've ran. We've winter ground now and finished one-two so happy days,” said Gordon Elliott.

“I'd say he could go up in trip and he'll win plenty of races.

“It's good for Jack (Kennedy), he's only back from an injury so it's nice for him to get a winner.”
