There was plenty of drama in the Powerstown Handicap Hurdle at Clonmel as Marshalled eventually ran out the winner. Shantou Sisu appeared to have his rivals on the stretch in the two-miler only to crash out at the second last flight, hampering a few of his rivals. Impressive Duke (backed from 6/1 into 6/4f) was left with the lead but blundered at the final flight and was claimed on the run-in by Marshalled, who recorded a three-parts-of-a-length win under Mark Walsh.

The Padraig Roche-trained gelding was having his first outing in handicap company having been well held in three maiden runs. He was sent to post a 12/1 shot.

The winning trainer said:- "It is great to get a race with him as he had been disappointing in a few maiden hurdles. Mark was very good on him; they went very fast and he took his time.

"The race fell apart a bit and all credit to Mark for the ride he gave the horse.

"We had a few from the family, with Adarma and some more and it is great as it was the dam's (Serious Fun) first winner. We'll look for something similar next."
