Hewick followed up his recent success at Kilbeggan with another cosy win in the second division of the two-mile-six handicap hurdle at Navan this afternoon.

Jody McGarvey produced his mount to challenge at the third last and the 4/1 joint favourite travelled well in front down to the next flight.

'Shark' Hanlon's charge kicked a few lengths clear before the last and the mistake there failed to stop his momentum as he went on to record a three-and-three-parts-of-a-length win over Vue En Seine

The winning jockey said afterwards:- “He travelled and jumped beautifully bar the mistake at the last.

“He gets three miles and that's why I was keen to send him about his business, I was afraid of getting done for toe up the straight. He's done it nicely. The track suited him.”
