Joey Dunne registered his first winner at Fairyhouse as the 17 year old landed the opening division of the fairyhouse.ie (QR) Handicap Hurdle on the Gavin Cromwell trained maiden Delirious Love

Having his 24th racecourse ride, Dunne produced Delirious Love with a well timed challenge to lead before the final flight and at the line the pair scored a length and three parts win over Pino Boy

Afterwards the Dunshaughlin-native reported “that’s my first winner and I’d like to thank Gavin and Darren Cahill (owner) for letting me up on him.

“He ran keen enough in my hands and was still travelling after the second last. I saw a stride at the last and went for it. He was just idling a bit in front .

“I’m full-time with Gavin and he’s been very good to me. I’m also in Noel Meade’s one day a week. I got loads of experience pony racing and rode winners at that.”
