Vipers Nest dug deep to land the spoils in the Bruff Handicap Hurdle at Limerick for John Queally and Jody McGarvey. Glenabo Bridge and Porterhorse disputed turning for home in the two-mile-five contest and were joined by Vipers Nest jumping the second last.

The later soon drifted right, coming across Porterhorse and hit the front.

McGarvey steadied his mount at the final flight as 4/1 favourite Glenabo Bridge challenged again but Vipers Nest found plenty in the closing stages to post a half length success.

The winner had been backed from 11/1 this morning, going off a 5/1 shot. He had finished a never nearer fifth on his return from an absence at Tramore last month.

Queally wasn't on hand to welcome back in his winner.
