Course-specialist Masalai registered a fifth career win at Dundalk today as the Eddie Lynam trained gelding landed the opening division of the Dundalkstadium.com Apprentice Handicap under jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle.

The seven year old son of Art Connoisseur was today contesting his 33rd race and indeed was gaining consecutive wins over today's seven furlongs trip, having won his previous race at the Co Louth venue 11 days ago.

Trainer Lynam later commented “it's good to get another one with him. I think he was better today than the last day.

“We had a 3lb penalty so I thought it was worth chancing and it worked out. Dylan knows where the winning post is.”
