The 11/8 favourite Oh Say had little difficulty in landing the Irishinjuredjockeys.com 3-y-o Claiming Race for trainer Jessica Harrington.

The Starspangledbanner colt tracked leader My Boy Charles before hitting the front early in the straight. He kept on well from that point and had his race in safe keeping a furlong out. Falsaron (16/1) was three and a quarter lengths back in second with Ben Asker (10/1) in third and the fancied newcomer Nakao (11/4 into 2/1) getting the message late on in fourth. T

The winner, wearing cheekpieces for the second time, had reached the frame in his previous three starts in maidens over a mile on the polytrack and was getting off the mark on his seventh outing.

“He was entitled to it. He had the rating, the form and I thought he was in relatively cheap (in to be claimed for 12,000 Euros),” said winning rider Shane Foley.

“He'll be a fun sound horse for someone.”

“The cheekpieces probably helped him as we were dropping him back a furlong. He worked well the other morning and I just said to Jessie we might stick them on to make sure we leave no stone unturned.

“He was good and deserved that.” Catherine Chroi (finished seventh) was subsequently claimed for 6,000 Euros by Claire O’Connell.
