Any money lost on Coill Na Soinainne at Leopardstown last time merely looked on loan, and so it proved with the So You Think mare today bolting up in division two of the Starlite Drive In Cinema At Naas Handicap.

She was a hot-order in the market on stable debut for Willie McCreery when a very encouraging third at the Foxrock venue twelve days back, and the support came again as the five-year-old stepped up to a mile.

Backed into 6/4 favourite from 5/2 on the show, and from bigger earlier, Nathan Crosse’s mount chased the leaders on the outer, making headway into a closer second two furlongs out.

She led a furlong and a half out. Soon pushed along and clear, Coill Na Sionainne stayed on strongly in the final furlong to easily defeat Lieutenant Silver by six lengths.

“She did a bit of work the other day and Liam Cummins said she was spot on!” said McCreery.

“I’m delighted for new owners in the yard, Ellenor Kennedy and Nicolas Varney.

“She shows a good level of ability but just gets a bit worked up some days. It’s just a matter of keeping the lid on her and that’s why we put the red hood on her going down.

“Nathan knows her well from home and gave her a lovely ride. The track and the stiffer finish suited her."

G.F. Carroll, rider of Take My Hand trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount reared on leaving the starting stalls.
