Mary Salome (2/1f) was 5lbs 'well-in' for Listowel's Listowel Tidy Towns Handicap (div I) today and won under a well-timed Luke McAteer ride, scoring for trainer Andrew Kinirons.

The daughter of Zebedee was a juvenile maiden winner in 2018 and today bagged a third career win, arriving from mid-field to edge ahead on the inner, in the final furlong for a length and a half win over Fugacious

Mary Salome finished second in a Curragh handicap on Wednesday and Kinirons today stated “she was unlucky with the way the race unfolded the last day, she hit the front two furlongs out and doesn't want to be in front too soon.

“Luke gave her an absolute peach today, he held on to her and that's the way she wants to be ridden. She has loads of ability, has had a few little issues but is back to herself now.

“She is in again on Wednesday in that (45-65) grade, she'll have a heavy weight but we'll have a look at it as she is coming back to form.

“Luke rode my first winner for me and is a really good lad and is obviously from Mr (Jim) Bolger's.”

Half an hour later, Kinirons completed the 'Tidy Towns' double with Praying Mantis in the second division, providing the trainer with a first double.
