Trainer Jimmy Barcoe registered his second winner in a week today at Downpatrick, as his Kingston Retreat caused a 40/1 upset in winning the I.N.H. Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle.

The six year old mare's previous four runs this year were at odds, respectively, of 125/1, 100/1, 80/1 and, most recently at 125/1 in a Listed Bumper and today was produced from off the pace by Cathal Landers to lead at the last and beat Midnight It Is by 3.75L.

Barcoe's Influential Lad was a winner at his local track Gowran last Saturday and following Kingston Retreat's success, said "she (Kingston Retreat) ran well the other day in a good bumper at Gowran Park - it was run in a very quick time. She came out of it nicely so this seemed to be a good idea and it worked out well.

"She ran here on her first run for me and a bit of experience on the track did her no harm. The stable is going well thank God."
