Dancing Rebel quickened up smartly to open her account in the five furlong maiden at the Curragh this afternoon.

Billy Lee was always prominent on the Highland Reel filly and she was asked to hit the front a furlong-and-a-half from home.

Ken Condon 's charge soon settled matters and galloped on strongly in the closing stages to post a three-parts-of-a-length win over Special Power.

The 5/2 winner had been placed on her two previous outings including when promoted to second behind Heart To Heart at Navan eight days ago.

Lee said afterwards:- “She's improved with every run.

“It was a good run in Navan the last day, when she met with a small bit of interference although I don't think I would have beaten the winner but I would have been a proper second. She ended up getting second in the stewards room.

“Today she jumped well, travelled great and I felt like I controlled the race nicely from the front.

“When she picked up she picked up well and galloped on through the line.

“I see her as a nice six or seven furlong filly for next year.”
