Pita Pinta finished with a flourish to secure a quick follow up win at Galway this afternoon.

The Fozzy Stack-trained filly had sprang a 20/1 shock at Navan last Wednesday and turned out again today under a 6lb penalty.

Chris Hayes was rowing along in third on the 9/4 favourite turning for home today but she picked up well in the straight, leading in the final furlong and pulling away late on for a five length win.

The winning rider said:- "We've had very patient owners because of the dry summer and she grows a leg on that ground. I thought she was really well placed by Fozzy.

"She is out of a good jumping mare so he said she might go jumping so we'll see, but I'd be hoping he'll keep her in training for the spring of next year. She goes so well on that ground, there could be a nice pot on her."

There was drama in the race early on as Dublin Journal clipped heels and fell. Rider Kevin Manning sustained an injury in the incident and was taken to University College Hospital Galway.
