Vita Veritas saw off a determined challenge from Walnut Beach to secure victory in the finale at Galway this afternoon.

The John Murphy-trained filly came on the outer to lead two furlongs from home in the 45-65 event but Walnut Beach proved persistent on her inner.

The daughter Camelot just found a bit more close home to record a three-parts-of-a-length win at odds of 13/2.

It was a second career victory for Vita Veritas who had also scored on testing conditions at Killarney last year.

Winning rider Shane Foley said afterwards:- "She loves the ground which is a big help. We went good and hard and I let her warm into it early and she has toughed it out well. She stays well."
