FormscanBy Mark Nunan - It’s over three years since SNUGSBOROUGH HALL was last successful over fences at the festival here but a reproduction of last month’s course and distance third to Royal Rendezvous would see him go close. He had run respectably behind that winner in last year’s Galway Plate and got a good deal closer to him at the revised weights last time in what was a competitive contest. Liam Cusack hasn’t over-raced the 11-year-old and there might be another prize in him. Birchdale gave his 7lb-claiming rider a high-profile success at the Dublin Racing Festival in February but got a fair hike in the ratings and struggled in a novice handicap here at the festival. His best form is at left-handed tracks. Fire Attack won on chasing debut at Wexford in the autumn and chased home a classy sort at this track in January. He’s interesting on his first start in a handicap although good ground is a concern. Old Town Garde ran well in a hot novice contest at Killarney and could be on a decent mark.
