He won his bumper first time out at this track last year and his 7lb claiming rider will be a jockey to keep on the right side of this winter. Eleven-time winner Goanotherone is a stable favourite and won a couple of similar, although less competitive, events during the summer. Not at his best lately over fences, he has a leading chance at the weights and his young amateur rider knows him well. As a novice hurdler, Robin Des Foret won five races in 2017 and is better-known nowadays as a smart handicap chaser. He invariably travels well without finding a lot off the bridle but his hurdles mark from when he was a novice gives him a good chance at these weights. Last year’s Galway Hurdle second Due Reward may have needed the run when stepped up in trip at Gowran and isn’t ruled out in a first-time tongue-tie.
