FormscanBy Gary Carson - JOHN CANNON has some solid form and should be good enough to land a race of this standard. The Joe Murphy-trained gelding won his bumper here in March 2020 and has been placed on both outings over hurdles since. The most recent was when chasing home a decent sort in Banbridge at Punchestown last May and he doesn't look to face anything of that class on his return. The danger looks to be bumper winner Pinkerton, who scored on his debut at Down Royal last month. He beat a useful yardstick in The Flier Begley then and if the Ocovango gelding takes to hurdling he could be a big threat. Layla's Daffodil was well held at Down Royal last time but had some decent bits of form before that and could be place material here.
