FormscanBy Tom Weekes - BALLYADAM is a horse of potential and might prove best, despite lacking hurdles experience. It is a minor source of concern he failed to justify 1/4 favouritism in a Navan bumper last February but did win an ordinary bumper at Downpatrick easily the following month and comes here following another easy win in a Down Royal maiden hurdle last month. He beat two previous bumper winners then and while he steps to Grade 1 company here, is progressive and looks quite smart. N'golo can be forgiven his pulled up effort at Kilbeggan in August as he has won twice since and was a staying-on winner of a Navan Grade 3 recently. He isn't high-class as yet but is nonetheless smart and is also improving. Cask Mate was 1020 days absent prior to returning with his win at Limerick last month and subsequently received 10lbs from Dewcup when beating that rival 10L at Punchestown. Both horses should go well today from level-weights although each is vulnerable to high class performers. Annexation, a miler on the flat, has done well over hurdles but was out-stayed by N'golo on his most recent start and might struggle to turn that form. The Very Man may have been feeling the pinch when exiting at the second last at Down Royal latest and might struggle at this level.
