FormscanBy Mark Nunan - Seven furlongs is obviously a good fit for PUNAKHA and she might be able to overcome a bad draw. The Acclamation filly has been runner-up three times in similar events including when beaten by subsequent handicap winner My Holy Fox at the Curragh. Her front-running second to Harannda at Roscommon last time was another solid effort. Adelisa has the same rating as the selection and was collared in the final furlong over a mile at Navan. The winner was a creditable fourth in a Listed race on Saturday and dropping to seven could be a good move for Joseph O’Brien’s charge. Awhile is a full-sister to a Listed winner and made a pleasing debut when fourth over a mile at Cork earlier in the month. She’s open to plenty of improvement although dropping in trip is not sure to suit. Palifico wears a first-time hood and represents a yard in extraordinary form but hasn’t run since November, while Vario hasn’t built on her promising debut in a Listed race last term and is now tried in blinkers after a hood failed to have the desired effect when well behind Adelisa at Navan.
