FormscanBy Tom Weekes - STATTLER was a smart novice hurdler and debuts over fences. Reported by his trainer to be a 'staying chaser down the line' after winning on bumper debut in January 2020, he would ideally prefer further than today's 2m5f trip but showed smart form at the big festivals last spring. Gars De Sceaux was similarly able, but not as highly tried, over hurdles and was rated just 1lb below the selection at 141. He won impressively at Navan in March and while he too would prefer a longer trip, is well suited to testing ground, is a previous point-to-point winner and it is encouraging to see Mark Walsh booked. Ain't That A Shame is another good staying prospect who won in fine style at Thurles in February. He is a lightly raced 7yo who probably needs testing ground and should do well over fences. Fighter Allen, a half-brother to Envoi Allen, disappointed on his latest starts and runs in a first-time tongue-tie while Glenloe has previous chase experience but is long absent.
