FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - Similar to all yards in the locality, the Tom Foley outfit like to have a contender on Thyestes Day at Gowran, and the trainer of the great Danoli has a chance here with the 132-rated Rebel Gold. The Gold Well gelding has finished third behind Willie Mullins horses, Unexcepted and Asterion Forlonge, on his outings to date over fences. He might have to settle for a minor role again behind a Mullins inmate with ANTEY the suggestion. He’s hardly one for steaming into given that he’s trying to win a beginners chase for a long time at this stage, including when a faller in this event last year. It’s been a tale of woe for Antey in the interim too, coming to grief on two of his three outings. Champion jockey Paul Townend hasn’t been aboard the German-bred all that often. He’s up top this time, and likely with plenty of schooling under his belt, the eight-year-old might get the job done on this occasion. Another that failed to complete last time, Jungle Junction, is one that will also be on all short-lists. Gordon Elliott has Ardhill and Recent Revelations in contention. The latter is one of the more interesting chase debutants.
