FormscanBy Mark Nunan - CHACUN POUR SOI was a major disappointment when trailing home in rear in the Tingle Creek but is still very much the one to beat on ratings and overall form. The ten-year-old has tasted defeat only once in eight starts over fences on Irish soil and, if restored to anything like his best, can complete a hat-trick of wins in this race. Sandown winner Greanateen holds third home Captain Guinness on that formline and there was no disgrace in being soundly beaten by Shishkin last time at Kempton. He’ll enjoy the decent ground here but the best of his form has come at right-handed tracks. It was a creditable effort from Captain Guinness in the Tingle Creek and he’s still open to more improvement in his second season over fences. Dunvegan has had an excellent season with two valuable handicap prizes in the bag already but a lot more will be needed at this level.
