FormscanBy Mark Nunan - WESTERN VICTORY was well clear of Rapid Response when winning her beginners’ chase at Roscommon and then ran really well against experienced and talented geldings at Wexford. On overall hurdle and chase form she looks the one to beat. Rapid Response won easily over a longer trip at Wexford and seemed to prefer racing on a left-handed course, so she could get closer to the selection here. Dime A Dozen is a notably consistent performer, and beat Popong at Tipperary before running well at Galway. No doubt she’ll give another good account, although Popong was a useful novice hurdler last term and she’s not one to discount if she sharpens up her jumping having made a few errors on what was her chasing bow on that occasion.
