FormscanBy Mark Nunan - NORDIC PASSAGE continues to defy the handicapper and connections could well have a Stakes sprinter on their hands before too long. He’s a strong traveller when he gets cover and a good pace to aim at, and he has a handy knack of not winning by too far so he looks to have a good chance of overcoming a 4lbs rise for his latest win at the Curragh. Strong Johnson has had an excellent season as well, and he can reverse form from Navan with Tide Of Time who might prefer a stiffer finish than he’ll get at this venue. Of the three-year-olds, Wheels On Fire got to within a length or so of the classy A’ali last year at Doncaster and he can’t be ruled out dropping into handicap company, while there could be more to come from speedy front-runner Elzaamone who should be suited by this flat track.
