FormscanBy Tom Weekes - EXUMA might win on handicap debut. By Galileo and out of an unraced sister to Danehill Dancer, EXUMA has yet to show any star qualities but has shown ability and was beaten a short-head by today's rival Snowy Owl in August before his defeat in a useful maiden at Cork in September, from which the runner-up and sixth-placed horses won maidens subsequently. EXUMA must give Snowy Owl 6lbs today (including jockey claims) but is open to vast improvement as a 3yo whereas Snowy Owl's form leveled-off at season's end and is today ridden by a 7lbs claimer. Grid, a 180,000gns yearling purchase, showed good ability in maidens and while he hauls top weight, the form of his most recent Leopardstown maiden has worked out very well, with the fifth and seventh placed horses subsequently winning maidens. Visualisation and Star Harbour step away from Dundalk for the first time and meet contrasting ground and stronger rivals, while Barretstown has soft ground form and comes here fit and well having defeated Star Harbour to win in February. Lunar Space steps up to a mile for the first time and has form on soft while Rock Etoile was a narrow winner at Dundalk latest and faces a stiffer task here.
