FormscanBy John O'Riordan - Representing leading connections and having no stamina issues to prove, CAPE GENTLEMAN, should take all the beating in this finale. A very respectable run in the Galway Plate last month showed that the six-year-old is in good form and with a rating of 100 on the level, he is clearly a classy performer. The Joseph O'Brien-trained Ruling is 1lb higher but has yet to convince he wants this trip. Well beaten over 1m6f at Royal Ascot last season, he was extremely impressive when subsequently dropping half a mile to win his maiden at the Curragh. The Shunter is a high-class handicapper over both fences and hurdles but showed he isn't slow when winning a maiden at Sligo on the flat. He should be a leading contender for major honours.
