The Stewards received a report from Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter,Mr. J.R. Banahan, that D.J
O'Keeffe, rider of Naturally Blond anticipated the start which caused a false start. Evidence was heard from the starter and rider concerned. Mr J.R. Banahan, stated that all the horses were walking in a controlled manner until he raised his flag and at that point Mr O'Keeffe anticipated the start causing a false start. Mr O'Keeffe stated that his horse was walking away until the starter raised his flag at which point his mount just broke his stride and caused a false start. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that D.J. O'Keeffe was in breach of Rule 208 (v)(b) and having taken his previous record into account, they suspended him for 1 raceday.
