Permission was given for Carolus Magnus (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and for Humanitarian (USA) to be mounted on the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approaching the final furlong when Hms President (IRE), placed second, ridden by Kieran Shoemark, interfered with Carolus Magnus (IRE), placed third, ridden by Jason Collett.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Hms President (IRE)’s placing as the interference occurred with sufficient distance from the winning post for Carolus Magnus to mount a challenge and Carolus Magnus suffered no loss of momentum.
The interference was found to be accidental as Hms President (IRE) edged left-handed despite Shoemark’s best efforts carrying Carolus Magnus slightly off its intended line.
Crossing the finish line, the winner, Amanzoe (IRE), ridden by Joanna Mason, edged slightly left-handed as Mason put her stick down causing Kieran Shoemark, the rider of Hms President (IRE), placed second, to take a slight check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Amanzoe (IRE).
