The Stewards enquired into an incident before the furlong marker involving Toogoodtobetrue, ridden by J.P. O'Brien, winner, Gussy Goose, ridden by F.M. Berry, placed second and New Alliance, ridden by K.J. Manning, placed third, where it appeared New Alliance suffered interference and had to check.. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion any interference was caused accidentally and so they took no further action. Mr N.B. Wachman, Chairman of the Acting Stewards absented himself from this enquiry and Ms. Mary Cosgrave acted as Chairman.
