An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line when the winner, Aheadfullofdreams (IRE), ridden by Harry Skelton, interfered with Espoir Moriviere (FR), placed second, ridden by Conor O'Farrell.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Aheadfullofdreams (IRE)’s placing as Espoir Moriviere (FR) received a significant bump which resulted in its quarters being turned before being carried notably off its intended line, with the distance between the two runners at the line a short head.
The placings were revised as follows: First, Espoir Moriviere (FR); Second, Aheadfullofdreams (IRE); Third, First One D'ana (FR); Fourth, Elite Icon (GB).
Skelton was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left-handed without correction, causing Espoir Moriviere (FR) to be badly hampered.
Following the race, Sam Coltherd reported that Tuatha De Dannan (IRE), which was pulled up, weakened quickly leaving the back straight on the final circuit; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post- race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
