The Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the late arrival of S.J. Crimin, the declared rider of Bach On Track, necessitating a change of rider. Evidence was heard from S.J. Crimin. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards gave permission for P.N O'Brien to replace S.J. Crimin on Bach On Track and fined S.J. Crimin ?200 for failing to present himself to be weighed out within the time fixed under Rule 196. The Stewards enquired into an incident after the last hurdle involving Beautiful Ben, ridden by B.F. Cawley, Couleur De La Loi, ridden by J.M. Moore, and Cloudy Morning, ridden by D. Meyler, where it appeared Beautiful Ben was forced to snatch-up and Couleur De La Loi ran short of room on the rails. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found D. Meyler in breach of Rule 214 by riding carelessly and having taken his record into account suspended him for two race days. The Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn into the backstraight involving Gold Class (GB), ridden by J.W. Kennedy, Zanouska (USA), ridden by L.P. Dempsey, and Castelo Branco, ridden by J.B. Kane, where it appeared Castelo Blanco ran short of room and unseated its rider. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards deemed the incident to be accidental in nature and took no further action.
