The Stewards enquired into an incident approximately two furlongs from the finish involving Cautious Approach (GB), ridden by A.J. Slattery, unplaced, Lady Scathach, ridden by N.G. McCullagh, placed first and Stocai Ban, ridden by W.M. Lordan, unplaced, where it appeared that Cautious Approach and Stocai Ban ran short of room and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that N. G. McCullagh was guilty of careless riding and suspended him from riding for two days.
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards fillies only rated 50-80 Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won.
