An enquiry was held to consider why Gay Kelleway was running Robsdelight (IRE) here at Brighton on going described as Good to Firm, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Brighton on 21 May 2019 on ground with the same official description.
Kelleway stated that she had declared Robsdelight (IRE) to run on the basis that rain had been forecast and she added that the owner had travelled a long distance to see the horse run.
She further stated that there were diminishing chances for Robsdelight (IRE) to run as the long-range forecast was for more dry weather and, on that basis, she was happy for the gelding to take its chance on this occasion.
Following the race, Rossa Ryan reported that Elysium Dream (GB), placed second, hung left-handed in the straight.
